Abstract

Economic calendar data play an important role in market analysis, as scheduled macroeconomic events significantly influence financial market movements and decision-making. The growing need for timely and consistent access to such data across multiple platforms highlights the importance of a reliable backend service. This study implements a RESTful Application Programming Interface (API) as an economic calendar data service for the Today’s Market application to support efficient data distribution for web and mobile clients. The system is developed through requirement analysis, RESTful endpoint design, database schema preparation, and API implementation using PHP Native and MySQL, followed by functional testing to ensure standardized responses. The API provides core features such as economic event lists, detailed event information, AI-generated summaries, and flexible filtering, delivered in JSON format. The results show that the implemented RESTful API enables consistent, efficient, and reusable access to economic calendar data, improving data availability, integration flexibility, and usability across platforms.
