Abstrak

Hospital information environments generate administrative and clinical data that are difficult to interpret when records are fragmented across separate screens or manually compiled reports. This study presents the design and implementation of a web-based hospital dashboard developed using PHP and MySQL, with an application structure that separates database configuration, the main index layer, and dashboard pages. The system supports multi-role authentication for administrators, physicians, and patients and exposes an application programming interface (API) tested through Postman and a web interface. The development process consisted of requirements analysis, system and database design, procedural PHP implementation, interface development, and black-box functional testing. The implemented prototype demonstrates role-specific login behavior, consistent JSON responses during API testing, password-protected authentication, an administrative dashboard, and API use across web and mobile-oriented workflows. In contrast to the short implementation report in the source manuscript, this expanded study interprets the prototype against contemporary evidence on hospital dashboards, usability, interoperability, data quality, and health information security. The results support the technical feasibility of a lightweight PHP–MySQL dashboard for centralized hospital information access; however, the available evidence is functional rather than clinical. No latency benchmark, usability score, cybersecurity penetration test, or patient-outcome evaluation was reported in the source study. Accordingly, the system should be considered a functional prototype whose readiness for production deployment requires further validation of usability, interoperability, data quality, scalability, and security. The study contributes a reproducible architecture and a clearer evaluation framework for subsequent hospital-dashboard research.
